An Old Dogs poem

Shivery cold,  such is the season

for Jan is chilly and that’s within reason

oh, my old doggy bones can feel it

As my beloved Throws the ball for that other

 named Stella, all healthy and perky with youth

BARK! Were’s my Cooky.. chewing keeps me warm

as i watch all those silly doggies run

Such romping  is not for me

too much aged dignity

OH, once was the day i could run like the wind

now i just feel stiff,  as the cold settles in

So home we go and i lay by the fire

lifes not so bad when you have love

And doggy dinners freshly cooked

real meat, real food!!

(I must be dreaming)

What more can be aspired

except to be young again…
